For Joely the theater must be in her genes. Daughter of Tony Richardson and Vanessa Redgrave, and granddaughter of actor Sir Michael Redgrave, she is the niece of Lynn Redgrave and her sister Natasha Richardson was also an actress. Former husband Tim Bevan is a producer. However the genes were slow - as a child she saw her older sister Natasha interested in acting but she was imagining a career in tennis. Her father put his foot down, and tennis was out. British by birth, she considers herself a sort of honorary Yank, having attended boarding school at Thacher in Ojai, California. Beginning in the 80s, film became her life, from small parts in Wetherby (1985) to BBC dramas such as "Lady Chatterley" to today's Disney studio going to the dogs in 101 Dalmatians. Joely also appeared in The Patriot, Wallis and Edward, Nip and Tuck and The Tudors.

The Tudors - Catherine Parr
Henry 8's sixth and final marriage was also one of his longest, lasting five years. Catherine was closer in age to Henry and twice widowed when they married. She proved herself extremely capable as acting Regent when Henry was on the battlefield in Bolougne and was a much-loved stepmother to the King's three children. Her kind and patient nature was also in evidenced in her care for the King, whose ulcerated leg was by now a source of constant pain and discomfort. Despite such qualities, she was not universally liked at court. She came close to being tried for treason when her enemies, notably Bishop Gardiner, attempted to prove that she was a committed Protestant. Henry also had his suspicions about her beliefs but she managed to convince him that she was loyal to the King and his Church and the charges did not proceed. Gardiner, on the other hand, was dismissed. After Henry's death she married Prince Edward's uncle Thomas Seymour, but died in childbirth soon after.
